About Kathryn Dean

Armed with her unique perspective, musical integrity and soul bearing vocals, Kathryn Dean's distinct sound has immense depth and intelligence both lyrically and musically. She delivers an honest performance that tells her unique stories in a way that inspires and impacts the human spirit like a true artist does. "The message I try to create with my songs is that life is not about being perfect. It is about recognizing that every high and low in life has an equally valuable lesson and that you can take every situation in which you are made to feel powerless and turn that potential defeat into a victory," Kathryn says.

2016 started off big with Supreme Entertainment securing support slots for Kathryn with Anna Nalick, Howie Day, Lee Dewyze, and the iconic John Waite. She crisscrossed the mid west three times, the east coast twice and performed at a NASCAR Rally this summer. Kathryn will be joining 80's icon, Tiffany, on her August/September national tour and Howie Day on his October tour. Other notable performances, appearances and interviews include Cumulus Radio Group, Billboard Magazine, AOL Live (moderated by Joe Levy, managing editor of Billboard Magazine), Cosmopolitan Magazine, iHeartRadio studios and a 14-page feature in Regard Magazine.

Soon after her critically acclaimed debut album release "Hit The Lights" last year, the first single, "Be My Sin", spent months on the AC Published Charts holding at #27. The official music video, directed by Paul Boyd (Shania Twain, Sting, Celine Dion) is currently approaching one million views.

Now Kathryn Dean is back with a new single "City Of Angels", produced by Chris Seefried (Lana Del Rey, Andra Day, Fitz And The Tantrums), and a dramatic new music video, also directed by Paul Boyd. As of mid-August, "City Of Angels" is #19 on the AC Published Radio Chart and has held the coveted #1 slot in the country on the independent chart for 5 straight weeks.

Outside of the United States, Kathryn's music has been featured on various television nighttime dramas including Malhação and A Regra do Jogo, and the compilation album for Alto Astra, which featured Kathryn Dean along with Sam Smith, John Legend and Gloria Estefan. The result of these Novella TV placements has been over 15 million YouTube views and an ever-growing international fan base. Kathryn's latest trip to Brazil included live performances on Encontro Con Fatima (Brazil's top entertainment talk show), the carnival episode of Malhação, and a concert at the Globo kiosk at the world famous Ipanema Beach. She has twice been selected as a finalist in Reverb Nation's Unsigned Only American Song Writing Contest and is an International Acoustic Music Award recipient. 2016 will see Kathryn touring nonstop in support of her new single and music video.

When asked about her songwriting Kathryn says, "My songs are a reflection of my own experiences and those of the people around me. Songwriting is very cathartic for me and I hope that my songs are as therapeutic for my listeners."
